A School Bus โ€” But on Bikes

A bike bus is exactly what it sounds like: a group of kids riding their bikes to school together, just like a school bus but powered by pedals and joy. Kids gather at Rocky Hill Park, then ride together as a group along a set route, with adult volunteers leading the way and keeping everyone safe.

It's social, it's active, and it gets kids energized before the school day even begins. The Liberty Lake Bike Bus serves both Liberty Creek Elementary and Liberty Lake Elementary โ€” and it's completely free.

See It in Action

Why Families Love the Bike Bus

๐ŸŒค๏ธ

Start the Day Right

Exercise and fresh air before school sets kids up for a great day of learning.

๐Ÿšฒ

Build Cycling Confidence

Riding with a group in a safe environment helps kids become stronger, more confident cyclists.

๐Ÿ‘ซ

Make New Friends

Kids bond with neighbors they might never meet otherwise. Community starts on two wheels.

โšก

Arrive Energized

Studies show active commutes improve focus and mood. Your child will be ready to learn.

๐Ÿ™Œ

Free and Reliable

No cost, no hassle. A dependable option for working parents every Friday morning.

How It Works

1

Meet at Rocky Hill Park

Meet at Rocky Hill Park (NW end, E. Ludlow Ave and N. Winrock St) between 9:00โ€“9:15am. The group departs at 9:15am sharp. To join at Maxwell Ln, Sharp Ln, or Simpson Rd, be there between 9:15 and 9:20am โ€” we'll have more accurate stop times once we've run the bike bus a few times.

2

Ride Together

Kids ride as a group with adult volunteer leaders at the front and a sweep rider at the back. No one gets left behind.

3

Arrive at School

The group arrives safely at Liberty Creek or Liberty Lake Elementary. High fives all around โ€” your child walks in energized and ready.

4

Normal Pickup

Afternoon pickup follows your normal school routine. The bike bus is a morning-only program.

The Route

Starting at Rocky Hill Park (NW end, E. Ludlow Ave and N. Winrock St, Liberty Lake), the route winds through the neighborhood to both Liberty Creek and Liberty Lake Elementary schools. Pickup stops are available at Maxwell Ln, Sharp Ln, and Simpson Rd.
